The Miner Corporation is looking for an Accountant to join our team and meet the demands of our growing business. The office location is in North San Antonio, Texas.
This position documents, analyzes and manages the company’s financial information related to general accounting duties. This includes: fixed assets; reconciliations; controls and financial compliance functions; accounting for capital leases; assists with timely and accurate completion of tax documentation; assists with internal and external audits; consolidations; depreciation analysis; and financial reporting.
Essential Functions
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
Regularly maintain detailed reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including Miner Intercompany Accounts.
Work with Accounting Manager during month end close to include journal entries, accruals and allocations.
Provides accounting support for acquisitions by reviewing financial information; uploading trial balances into general ledger system; communicating allocations; creating and inputting journal entries in acquisition system.
Interacting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments on a regular basis.
Post Concur transactions to the general ledger system.
Preparation of monthly financial analysis reports.
Prepare documentation and assist in external audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
. Requirements:
Degree in Finance, Business or other related field is required. However, a degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in company accounting with experience in financial reporting, budgeting and financial compliance.
3+ years of experience in service, sales and/or industrial environments is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills is a must.
Proven ability to operate under stressful situations (i.e., multiple deadlines, multiple customers, and different conditions and formats of data). Ability to multi-task.
Excellent computer skills, including ability to easily use MS Office suite; ability to create, read and manipulate Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to read, understand, analyze, negotiate and report on standard or complex information.
Proficient and excellent English communications skills, both oral and written.
Willingness to perform some overtime, week-end or Holiday work to meet the financial close deadlines as established by the HQ organization.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
