Our client is a mid‐sized tax and accounting firm servicing industries such as shipping and logistics, manufacturing, real estate holdings and professional services. They are located in New York at the gateway to Long Island’s Gold Coast – host to fine restaurants, shopping and

entertainment. Our client takes pride in their family-oriented team of dedicated professionals. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, 401(k), health, life and long‐term disability insurances. They offer a signing bonus of $5,000 paid in three (3) installments at 30, 60 and 90 days employed.

Due to growth, they are currently looking for a full-time Staff Accountant responsible for performing tax, accounting and/or audit work as assigned. An ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is critical. This position’s hours are 9 – 5:30, Mondays through Fridays. Working extended hours and Saturdays should be anticipated during tax seasons and statutory deadline periods.

Qualifications:
Education ‐ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting

CPA a MUST

Experience ‐ Minimum 2‐3 years in recent public accounting;

Software ‐ Working knowledge of ProSystem Engagement, ProSystem fx, QuickBooks, Tax and Audit research tools

Professional Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize in a dynamic environment, and maintain control

and order over the same

Detail‐oriented with strong analytic skills

Strategic thinker and planner

Team player motivated to work in a fast‐paced environment

Responsibilities:
Preparation of domestic Federal, State and Local income/franchise tax returns; experience with real estate holdings a plus

General accounting and write‐up work

Preparation of financial statements

Performing 401(k) audit engagements

Performing compilation, review and other audit engagements
