Job Description : Are you looking for an exciting Accounting career? Penn-Mar Castings is looking for a Staff accountant.Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will provide administrative and financial support services. The position will work closely with management and other accounting staff to facilitate analyses and timely reporting of operating results and financial position of the company.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General Accountingo Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures which includes preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts as neededo Responsible for preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule including analysis resultso Perform monthly bank reconciliations for checking and payroll accounts.o Assists with preparation and data collection for various external auditso Assists in monitoring internal controls and advises Accounting Manager of suspected or confirmed control or fraud issueso Responsible for the coordination of quarterly physical inventories and follow up and recording resultso Maintains fixed asset activity including tracking projects and processing additions and disposals in Asset Keeper fixed asset systemo Process, reconcile credit card payments and code to proper accountPayrollo Assist with various regulatory reporting (workers comp audit, 401k uploads, etc).o Assist with payroll processing questions and issues as needed.o Issue manual payroll checks as necessary under the direction of the Accounting and/or HR Managero Coordinate and communicate special payroll timing, needs, and changes to the organization as guided by the Accounting and/or HR Managero Assist with time and attendance as neededAccounts Receivable and Returns Activitieso Process customer invoices daily and credit memos as neededo Post all cash receipts and monitor the accounts receivable aging for timely collectionOther Dutieso Completes all requested internal and external reportingo Assist with centralized Accounts Payable questions as neededo Other duties as assignedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or businessExperience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience as an accountant in a manufacturing environmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:Demonstrates company values of Honesty, Caring, Improving and SuccessClear understanding of accounting practices and standards; working knowledge of GAAPAbility to perform duties and operate independently with minimal daily directionEfficient user of Microsoft office products especially Excel and ability to pick up ERP systems quicklyAnalytical skills along with excellent planning, organizing, and prioritizing skillsAbility to consistently meet deadlines and to effectively alert management of barriersSolid written and verbal communication skills coupled with effective listening skillsAble to recognize and respect confidential informationContinuous improvement mindset towards all tasksPrepared to work as a team with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving, and resultsAbility to multi-task and keep a flexible schedule to best serve management needsAble to maintain high levels of activity or productivityProfessional in appearance and demeanor appropriate for the environmentPhysical health, mobility, and the necessary stamina to meet the demands of the jobBenefits include:Fixed weekly scheduleInsurance within 60 daysHolidays and paid time off401K with matchUniformsBoot reimbursementPrescrip. safety glass reimbursementTuition reimbursementPlenty of growth opportunitiesYou’ll have a tendency to follow set instructions and strong attention to detail.
