Check out the information below and apply today!About this Role: Under limited supervision, the Staff Accountant maintains accruals, audit schedules, account analysis and reconciliations, and the foreign accounting processes. S/he assists with financial reports, distributions, forecasting and annual audits.Essential Job Functions/Tasks: Assists in the month-end closing of the financial statements. Assists with monthly income statement forecasting and variances. Partners with other departments for variance explanations.Establishes and monitors various balance sheet accounts. Performs account analysis and reconciliation, and posts adjusting entries as needed.Applies daily AR cash receipts. Coordinates with Customer Service to resolve payment discrepancies and apply account credits. Reviews and approves credit memos and price changes.Maintains and reconciles consignment inventory records monthly. Communicates with consignment locations to resolve discrepancies.Prepares Daily Sales journals and ensures accuracy and timeliness of entries.Prepares audit schedules and lead sheets. Assists with audit work papers as requested.Manages fixed asset activity including depreciation, disposals, transfers, and additions.Coordinates all foreign accounting, ensuring accurate transfers to the general ledger in US dollars. On a monthly basis, updates foreign currency rates and reconciles balance sheet accounts.Prepares accruals for real property and business property tax. Reconciles the prepaid and accrued property tax accounts. Maintains insurance schedule. Analyzes and codes vehicle lease invoices for payment.Assigns and maintains schedule of work orders for various projects and trade shows.Reviews and maintains intercompany account transactions, billings, and reconciliation.Qualifications: Education/Training Required and Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study, or equivalent education and work experience.Experience Required and Preferred: 1-2 years of progressive experience in general accounting.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s) Required and Preferred: Proficient knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Proficiency in the use of computers with a strong knowledge of computerized spreadsheets.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work under limited supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within time limits.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with other departments.Ability to set goals and objectives and to set and meet timelines to achieve goals and objectives.Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.Working knowledge of IQMS and JD Edwards preferred.Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.Follow us on LinkedIn, check out our rave reviews on Glassdoor, and learn more about our company culture on our career site: http://corporate.hunterindustries.com/careersHunter Industries and its Family of Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
