About this opportunity
The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions within the manufacturing operation. This position works closely with local teams as well as corporate partners to ensure timely and accurate cash flows, journal entries, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant is the primary owner for critical plant procedures of fixed assets, customer credits, and administration of certain AR functions.

What you will do
Ensure plant compliance with internal controls and company financial policies, collecting information and preparing responses for internal/external audits.
Assist Plant Controller with monthly financial results to internal staff.
Track project expenditures, calculate and prepare accruals, and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare month-end payroll journal entries, vacation/holiday accruals, and collaborate with HR to ensure employee pay and benefits are validated.
Support 401k and workers compensation audits.
Oversee approvals of customer credit memos, validate POD (point of delivery) rebates, and input corresponding credit memos.
Work within the ERP system to close out production jobs and assist in setting cost standards and ongoing variance identification.

What you have to offer
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
Experience in public accounting and/or manufacturing.
Solid understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS.
Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint office applications.
Highly motivated self-started, seeking improvement and positive change.
