JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Staff/Grant Accountant
Reporting To: Director, Accounting
Department: Finance
Position: Grant funded through 6/30/2023, Full-time/EXEMPT with benefits
Purpose of Position
Provide accounting support for the organization and maintain various aspects of grant spending and reporting for the CDC Health Equity Collaborative. This position is Grant Funded through June 30, 2023, and offers a full time (37.5 hours/week) hybrid work schedule.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
General Ledger:
Prepare monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, reporting and account analysis as part of month-end close
Prepare monthly leads for various asset and liabilities account
Manage fixed asset register
Prepare year-end audit and annual tax return support schedules
Assist Director of Accounting with month-end and year-end close
Grant Administration and Reporting:
Manage grant funded payroll process for CDC Health Equity Collaborative
Prepare monthly journal entries for the CDC Health Equity Collaborative
Provide required backup documentation to compliance manager for grant reporting
Track grant spending by program for the CDC Health Equity Collaborative
Assist in single audit for federal grants and/or state audit
Accounts Payable:
Serve as backup for Accounts Payable processing
Prepare pre-note ACH processing file for Eviction Prevention Program
Manage Eviction Prevention Program weekly check processing
Other:
Respond to ad hoc organizational requests and/or special projects
Coordinate with and support other divisions in a manner that will meet organizational objectives
Update all applicable training memos as processes change

Job Requirements /Technical Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounting and/or Finance department with a comprehensive understanding of general ledger principles, strong familiarity with the month-end and year-end close process and the production of financial reports and variance analysis. Experience with grant reporting and/or working with federal grant funding preferred.

Physical Demands
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Accountant. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to operate a computer keyboard, and lift files and reports. Exposure to glare from a computer.
