Job Description : Parker + Lynch has a Supervising Senior Accountant position with a world leader in the transportation industry located in North Dallas. This position is responsible for managing and verifying data in the general ledger and balance sheet. They will supervise, mentor, and coach 2-3 staff-level accountants on the GL team. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get into management with a large and quickly growing company!
Responsibilities include:
Provide accounting support to operating companies comprised of approximately 17 entities including month-end close, analysis, and response to questions.
Work closely with management to communicate accounting interpretations
Update and prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and board reporting for distribution to appropriate parties
Support quarterly and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests
Work with the accounting team to implement process and control improvements
Develop and project an understanding of the Company’s business and operations. Actively participate in efforts to provide financial expertise to internal management to assist them in various strategic and operational projects that can improve overall productivity and profitability.
Create financial models to analyze various business opportunities and cost savings initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA or MBA a plus
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Large public company experience preferred but not required
Strong proficiency in developing complex models and analytics within Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience developing operating procedures, systems implementation, and/or process improvement highly
