Job Description : Bunge North America, Inc has an open position for a Tax Analyst within its Corporate Tax Department in Chesterfield, MO. If you have an interest in technical taxation, tax accounting principles, and love to synthesize data, you should become our next Tax Analyst. This position generates and reviews reports for filing corporate taxes/forms with federal, state, local, and international taxing jurisdictions. The Tax Analyst is responsible for a wide array of duties, including but not limited to, state income tax, state apportionment, sales/use and property tax matters, and Canadian VAT returns.
This role is ideal for someone with the ability to pull data from multiple systems and work daily in Excel.
Core Functions:
Provide guidance and perform initial review of outsourced sales/use tax compliance
Prepare workpapers and file monthly Canadian VAT returns
Track and review property tax payments/filings
Prepare state income tax sales, payroll, and property apportionment schedules
Prepare various state income tax compliance workpapers
Assist in preparing corporate annual reports, franchise tax reports, and business license applications in multiple jurisdictions
Review and respond to various tax notices and audits
Assist with estimated tax payments and tracking cash tax payments
Prepare and analyze account reconciliations to support income tax provision workpapers and compliance filings
Extract and summarize data from SAP systems necessary for accurate & timely income tax compliance filings
Identify opportunities to automate tax information generated from SAP/OneStream
Perform ad-hoc tax research and analysis to validate compliance with tax laws and document conclusions
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely income tax provision schedules in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred reporting of income taxes for SEC purposes
Ensure processes associated with the compiling and presentation of information are well documented and meet the minimum requirements of SOX 404
Skill/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or comparable work experience
2-4 years of experience in a tax or financial accounting role
Public or private accounting experience preferred
SAP data mining experience preferred
Proficient in automating processes
Advanced/expert experience with Microsoft Excel
CPA desired, but not required
Working knowledge of income, sales/use, GST, VAT, property tax, and business licenses
Ability to analyze financial data and tax-related information and to summarize and present in clear and concise reports
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents
Ability to execute tasks and follow-through to completion with appropriate documentation
Ability to handle changing priorities and consistent workloads
Comfort working individually and with little supervision as well as with interactions and fielding requests from other department/peers
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience with OneSource Tax suite preferred
