Job Description : The purpose of this position is to conduct moderately complex tax research activities, support tax-planning projects and support tax compliance activities. General responsibilities include supporting external tax firm with the preparation of federal and state income tax audits, researching tax compliance matters in new jurisdictions (state and local), and various other tax related projects. This individual will provide advice to the different departments and help educate employees on the various tax laws and regulations, which affect Strata’s day-to-day operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs moderately complex tax research related to tax audits and tax compliance activities.Reviews monthly/quarterly sales and use tax and privilege tax returnsPrepares/reviews miscellaneous filings and responds to various notices.Supports tax planning and research projects.Prepares responses to state tax notices.Assists with requests from external tax firm related to the preparation of state and federal income tax returns.Assist external tax firm with Information Document Request, (“IDR”), responses for Federal and State Income, Franchise and Sales & Use Tax filings.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: B.S. in Accounting or Finance.5+ years of income tax compliance.Experience working in a large corporate tax department or public accounting firm.Experience with tax compliance software and general ledger packages.Preferred: MS in Accounting or Taxation or J.D. preferred.Certified Public Accountant preferred.Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $1.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Tax compliance: 5 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Preferred)Work Location: One location
