The Vice President of Tax is responsible for all tax, estate planning, and insurance aspects of the company.Beztak Properties is a national Real Estate Development and Property Management company. Check us out at www.beztak.com to learn more about who we are.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversees tax planning and research, creates plans and goals to advise partners and clients.Research and document tax strategies and new laws.Works with ownership on strategic estate planning decisions.Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, timeliness and legal requirementsAnalyze the company’s tax policies to make sure they are in compliance with the lawAnalyze regulations and recommend policies that minimize tax burdenPrepare and/or reviews tax returns and reports, maintain records, analyze and research complex tax issuesLead primary review of complicated or unusual tax documentsParticipate in tax planningFamily office servicesOversee returns and compliance for the company, partnerships, trusts and individualsResearch and explain tax information, needs and paperwork, offering adviceOversee preparation for and the conducting of internal operational audits.Performs financial analysis, projections, budgeting, tax planning and projectionsImplement changes in financial and management information systems for the companyReviews the financial statements, financial reports, forecasts and information reports for the company.Prepare and maintain current value statements for the partners and various entitiesWork with the company controller to maintain internal control safeguardsAssist in the financial analyses, reports and recommendations for new opportunitiesIdentify tax planning opportunities for the companies and work with outside tax advisorsPrepare correspondences and presentation materials in seeking approval or implementation of tax plansCoordinate with accounting to implement such tax policiesReview insurance policies for all property, partners and various company operations as needed. Coordinate annual policy renewals and distribute to lenders, agents and clients.Understand the business needs and balance of risk for insurance policies and coveragesCollaborate with the HR Director on risk management ideas and policies across all companiesMentor other associates to develop people and revenuePERSONAL QUALITIES: Must be a strong negotiator with excellent communication skills – written and verbalStrong leadership skills and should be able to motivate team members and work efficiently, follow deadlines and have good working relationships with other departments.Must have a strong sense of confidentiality.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Masters level degree in finance and/or accounting preferredCPA requiredMust have minimum 10 years’ experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance and strategic planning and executionStrong knowledge of estate planning.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Tax experience: 10 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Preferred)Work Location: One location
