Job Description
Incumbents in this position leads a project team in developing and delivering products for the automotive domain. Incumbent must have a strong expertise of core development techniques and possess high analytical and programming skills to apply new techniques and technologies in developing solutions. Incumbent must work closely with the Solution Architects in the group and the Product Owner as well as the Technical Lead on the team to identify the architecture and design details of the solutions built and disseminate effectively to the team members on the project.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be a subject matter expert and ensure alignment to overall development goals
Help define the architecture requirements for large complex cross-functional projects
Provide thought leadership, technical expertise and mentorship during project ideation, design, and implementation
Understanding and communicating strategic themes, and other key business drivers for development, to product development teams and nontechnical stakeholders
Lead an agile development team to design, estimate, develop and implement software solutions that satisfy the business requirements.
Work closely with the Technical Manager and Product Owner to review the business requirements and decipher the design details for the solution.
Design architectures along with the Technical Managers and lead developers in the group by providing their input into the overall Solution Architecture.
Collaborate with the cross-functional teams such as Infrastructure and App Support to provide the necessary hardware and software requirements of the solution.
Influence common modeling, design, and coding practices
Facilitating the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns
Anticipate areas where standards may need to be developed to ensure alignment with customer, IT, and industry standards
Effectively transition products that are delivered to Operations for enabling customer support.
Mentor and train junior developers in the group.
Demonstrate leadership in not just finishing their tasks but removing technical impediments for the team members.
Understand and implement the Agile Development approach and assist the Technical Manager in issue resolution and escalation.
Promote a culture of proactive problem solving and innovation through implementation of cutting-edge techniques and technologies in the development group.
Responsible to transform the current suite of Products towards CI/CD and Cloud native
Provides solutions and expertise to optimize Cloud use based on industry best practices and internal guidelines
Education/Experience:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in developing large scale software solutions with minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team of developers
Expertise with programming languages, programming techniques, web development technologies and use of databases
Expertise with HTML, JavaScript and Java, Restful APIs in conjunction with databases and UI technologies like Angular JS and/or ReactJS
Expertise with Java EE container services for web applications as well as high performance automated and batch operations working with large data sets
Expertise in working with JDBC and coding procedures, functions and triggers using SQL through Java
Expertise with relational database concepts, Graphical User Interface, and service-oriented architecture
Experience with Devops CI/CD is desired
Experience with developing Cloud Native (AWS) application is a plus
Experience creating architectural approaches for software design and implementation is a plus
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with agile development methodologies
Experience in the automotive domain strongly would be plus
Excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to work effectively as part of a project/program team and foster team cooperation
Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
Organizational Relationships:
Reports directly to development management
Interacts with other colleagues at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities
Collaborated closely with the Product Owner and Technical Manager
Participates in meetings with internal stakeholders to assess business need
