APEX Common Frameworks Mobile is the team at Grab responsible to lay down and continuously improve the software foundations and infrastructure components that all Grab mobile apps are built upon.
The team objective is to maximize every single Grab mobile engineer’s productivity in delivering the most stable, scalable, and secure product, with the best-in-class quality our customers deserve and at great velocity.
APEX CFM operates against a set of key principles: pursue and adoption of highly scalable, consistent, and intentional mobile architectures, consolidation of reusable software assets, pervasive automation, and continuous push for all Grab mobile apps towards continuous delivery.
Get to know the Role
Build the next generation of web apps to support mobile application development at scale.
Collaborate closely with teams across Grab to understand and build web tooling that is needed to enable a delightful mobile developer experience
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across the company.
Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment
The day-to-day activities
Coding & Programming & Code Reviews in various languages depending on the need of the team’s projects
Design and implement RESTful APIs
Daily Standups to support two weeks sprints
Preparing and giving tech talks
Mentoring interns and support team members
Meeting-free Wednesday
The must-haves
5+ years of professional development experience with such languages and frameworks as JavaScript, Python, React, Angular, etc
Fluent with SOLID principles and design patterns
Firm grasp of algorithms and data structures
Experience with unit testing and UI test frameworks
Hands-on experience with CI pipelines & mobile apps build systems
Eagerness to educate and collaborate with others
Enthusiasm for building components and systems with reliability and long term support in mind
Readiness to go outside of comfort zone, experiment, and learn new languages and technologies
The nice haves
Contribution to Open Source Projects
Experience with mobile native and cross-platform mobile tech stacks(Kotlin/Java, Swift/ObjC and Flutter, React Native, Xamarin, etc)
