Atlassian System Administrator / Developer
Job Description
The Atlassian System Administrator/Developer will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and daily operation of Atlassian tools (currently Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Crowd). Candidates should have experience in administering complex Jira Data Center environments hosted in AWS and in building high-quality systems in support of business operations. The person in this position should have strong overall technical skills, excellent customer service skills, and superior organizational and prioritization management skills.

This candidate needs to be flexible and someone who will flourish in a challenging environment. He or she should be a self-starter and have excellent motivation and ingenuity to excel at this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Administer Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Crowd (sytem level, not just project level)
Create complex Jira workflows, project workflows, field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
Create conditions, validators, post functions and make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting, and provide ongoing support and configuration maintenance.
Create and manage users, groups, projects, and user permissions
Create JQL queries, filters, dashboards and reports
Establish and promote best practices for the usage of Atlassian tools
Help guide and maintain the organization of data in Atlassian tools
Configure, manage, and enhance Atlassian tools, including native functionality as well as researching, testing, and implementing apps
Troubleshoot access and/or performance issues, engaging Atlassian and/or app vendor support when necessary
Create and maintain scripts in such apps as Adaptavist Scriptrunner and JMWE workflow extensions
Experience designing, testing, and deploying changes to dev, test, and production Jira environments using Botron Configuration Manager app.
Familiarity with Data Center deployment in AWS VPC.
Basic Linux skills.
Interact with Project Managers, Managers, Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, Practice Teams, Stakeholders, and other Administrators
Create, manage, support, and operate all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian products as outlined by the sponsoring practice team
Create and maintain technical documentation
Evaluate and manage the usage of Atlassian apps to meet team and business needs
Understand system architecture of upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions
Must be Customer Service driven mindset with strong relationship building skills.
Qualifications:
4+ years of IT experience
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience working with Atlassian products
Expertise in Jira and Confluence administration, with at least 2 years of experience with Jira administration and/or development.
Hands-on experience using JIRA REST APIs for integration with other tools like Jenkins, and Integration/Automation frameworks
Proven track record with Atlassian installations, migrations and upgrades
Hands-on experience supporting Atlassian tools in an AWS environment, especially multi-node deployments with automation
Linux experience
Preferences:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A motivated self-starting personality, able to work independently while maintaining patience with interruptions
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests
Comfortable working with critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities.
Willingness to learn automation and containerization
