Our products are built on Windows .NET and SQL Server and managed in AWS. Our web UX stack is built on jQuery and some areas use AngularJS. Our middle tier is in C# and we build our infrastructure on an extensive set of Restful APIs. We build native iOS and Android apps, and are starting to leverage Flutter and Dart. For select infrastructure components we use Python extensively, and use Tableau for analytics dashboards. We use Redshift, Aurora, Redis Elasticache, Lambda, and other AWS products to build and manage our complete service, moving towards serverless components. We deal with billions of API calls, millions of records in databases, and terabytes of data to be managed with all services we build that must run 24×7 at 99.99% availability.
What will I be doing?
Design systems to make consumers experience with the beauty and wellness services simple, elegant and pleasurable.
Manage and build relationships, and collaborate with teams across UX Research, Product Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, and Product Marketing
Collaborate with Product Management on creating compelling product vision, identification of new market opportunities as well as participate in defining the requirements.
Own and drive design problems from ideation to execution
Create user scenarios, user journey, wireframes, UI designs and prototypes throughout the full cycle of the product development process
Deliver high-fidelity assets and specs ready for engineering
Use quantitative data, user research, and qualitative feedback to inform design decisions
Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details
Deeply understand business goals, customer needs and preferences, and challenge product requirements as necessary
Actively practice and evangelize customer-centric thinking
Contextualize the holistic impact of your design in the dynamic ecosystem of technology enabling beauty & wellness brands
Manage larger design team to conform with the latest design system and contribute to its continuous innovation
Make presentations to stakeholders presenting, articulating and defending research findings, design strategies and decisions
What skills do I need?
You have over ten years of UX Design experience with a significant portion of it on consumer technology products.
Over four years’ experience in managing (recruit, build, lead, delegate) a UX team of professionals, and delivering large scale projects.
You are fluent in the latest cross-platform product design trends, tools and technologies
Ability to solved design problems for global markets.
Experience designing and shipping products for mobile and desktop
Experience using analytics, user research and other approaches to guide the design decisions.
You are detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture
You make a great director and collaborator with engineers and product managers, and work cross-functionally across teams to deliver user experiences that delight customers
You are an excellent storyteller and communicator
You love a fast-paced startup environment, embrace change, and have a bias for action
You have a passion for getting things right for your customers
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction & Design, UX/UI Design, Information Studies, or equivalent experience
You have a strong portfolio or samples of work showcasing the problem-solving skill and high design
