The Role Responsibilities
Purpose
The Planning and Stress Testing Delivery team is responsible for production planning and delivery of Corporate Plan, Target setting, Regulatory and non-Regulatory Stress test exercise and strategic planning aligning to the GCFO strategic change agenda. The delivery team is responsible for delivery of these processes and supporting all the relevant process stakeholders involved in delivery. The delivery team works closely with the related Risk and Finance workstreams to define a delivery process, understand the status of their deliverables, report progress against plans and outputs, and develop high quality stakeholder management updates.
The role holder, will support the Senior Manager, Stress test delivery and team for activities related to delivering following model risk for stress models:
Lead and facilitate (where required) the run plan for regulatory, management stress test exercises for country and group as required.
Enforce a structured approach to the stress test production plan within the team to realise synergies and efficiencies where possible and effective risk management of the change in the processes.

The role holder will project manage, plan, track and co-ordinate with various stakeholders of Enterprise Stress Tests.
This is a rapidly evolving space, so the role holder must be comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Key Supporting Activities
The role holder will execute the Data Production processes for Enterprise Stress Tests.

Processes
Lead and manage the strategic roadmap of planning of Stress test exercises.
Prepare the production timelines (high-level and detailed) for Regulatory, Management Stress Test exercises.
Prepare Standard Documentation packs, processes and workflows for production planning purposes.
Monitor and evaluate process timelines to ensure production schedule is on track.
Establish critical path for planning events with strong emphasis on delivery commitments.
Run working groups, co-ordinate and drive system engagement & manage milestones.
Lead in preparing and presenting ppts articulating critical timelines, strategy, approach and other Planning deliveries/ roadmaps to help drive key decisions.
Prepare communication to Senior stakeholders and Planning practitioners (including management of Planning Forum Bridge site).
Drive Governance (identify risks and issues) around Planning activities and highlight to stakeholder.
Managing and tracking work packages of key deliverables to the regulator (as applicable). e.g. unstructured tracking and submissions.
Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the operating model, infrastructure, and resulting processes by tracking and follow up of Lessons learned post each exercise.
Contribute to transformational agenda in terms of strategic, consensus building, driving and contributing to objectives. participate and support in all global initiatives as applicable from time to time.
System run-plan co-ordination and tracking.
Co-ordinate and submit the Query log and any regulatory reporting artefacts to the Regulator.

Risk Management
Co-ordinate and ensure satisfactory audit rating in both internal and external reviews by highlighting risks and agreeing mitigation
Understand various Risk Management tools in the unit/ function and ensure adherence to the same.
Identify ways to improve the process and agree mitigation in place.

Governance
Ensure all open items are closely monitored by the team and reported to governance forums when due.
Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge colleagues effectively or escalate appropriately; and willingness to work in an open and cooperative manner with all.

Committee Secretary
Conduct committee meetings throughout the year, as needed.
Take minutes of committee meetings and submit to committee chair and other committee members for review and approval.
Update and share the relevant documentation for committee meetings ahead of the committee meetings.
Maintain stakeholder list and documentation of the committee meetings.

People and Talent
The role holder will need to support development and stabilisation a newly formed team, working across geographies.

Our Ideal Candidate
The role holder will have experience in:
Regulatory reporting in the financial services industry.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and Banking regulations.
Knowledge of risk and governance processes.
Working across geographies and timezones.
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
Robust skills for qualitative and quantitative analysis e.g. financial and process.
Excellent academic background, preferably with a degree in a quantitative discipline, such as economics, finance, statistics/mathematics, sciences or engineering.
Understanding of SCB’s key footprint markets will be added plus.

ROLE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Results orientated, with attention to detail – Advanced
Excellent inter-personal skills; comfortable in building relationships, with outstanding written and oral communication skills with high competency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Advanced
Confident self-motivated person with a high level of drive and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment – Advanced
Good problem identification skills coupled with an analytical and pragmatic approach to proposing solutions – Advanced
Knowledge of and direct experience in stress testing at a major international bank, could be in a specific workstream such as market risk or credit risk, or at a group level, such as group risk or group finance. This should include Bank of England, HKMA or CCAR. – Advanced
8-10 years of experience in enterprise data management covering data transformation and end-to-end process analysis – Advanced
Detailed knowledge of the Bank of England’s Stress Test Data Framework – Core
Good working knowledge in SAS and Excel (Pivot Tables) to be able to use these on day 1 – Core
Experience with data reporting tools (Tableau, PVT) and the like – Core
Strong IT skills such as SQL, VBA, Access skills are advantageous – Core
