Job Description : 5+ years of experience managing software engineers (including hiring, performance evaluations, etc.)
Strong software design skills and experience with architecting highly-scalable and low latency systems

A deep understanding of cross-functional multiple-team based software development

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or related industry experience

In this role, you will:

Define the strategy and roadmap for Alexa Voice Services team
Hire and develop the industry’s best talent to build a strong and well-balanced team
Work across the organization to deliver the best in-class Alexa experience for our customers while balancing critical business objectives
Build the next generation systems for enabling Alexa on devices portfolio to allow rapid innovation in the Voice Experience
Build software that easily extends to meet the high growth of Amazon’s AVS business and capabilities
Own and operate mission critical services that are highly reliable and extremely low latency

Basically you get to lead in a fast-paced environment, guiding a team of smart software engineers to architect and develop the right technical solutions to meet the needs of the business. You will be in charge of the complete software development lifecycle: defining, prioritizing, designing, building, and testing new features. We care about both delighting customers and high quality software; we don’t sacrifice one for the other. We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated track record of hiring and leading teams of software development engineers to build and run highly-scalable, global software solutions.

Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience developing in at least one of Java, C# or C++
Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
