About Procurement
Procurement is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) within Global Operations, responsible for managing and negotiating billions of pounds in third-party spend. Procurement works in partnership with suppliers to deliver innovative solutions for Barclays, balancing costs against service levels and risks, enabling Barclays to achieve its ambition of becoming the ‘Go-To’ bank.
Procurement is responsible for:
Delivering effective global group wide spend management across Corporate Services, Professional Services and Technology spend categories;
Operating a number of procurement systems and processes to support and control buying activities; and

Setting the framework for Third-Party Supplier Risk Management and supporting the management of supplier relationships across Barclays

Overall purpose of role
This role will be responsible for driving Process Excellence and Data Insights within Procurement globally, and collaborate with multiple work streams across locations to jointly lead and deliver tactical and strategic services and programs to support the Procurement Transformation agenda.
The role will be responsible for breaking down the end to end process to identify automation / improvement opportunities and create automation / transformation roadmaps. The role holder will also be accountable to deliver large scale process transformation projects working with global teams.
The role will lead a diverse array of projects which will require in-depth data exploration, front to end visualization as well as strategic vision and execution with management.
Key Accountabilities
The role holder will be the Process Transformation partner for Procurement to drive the following:
Proactive identification, definition and solving of complex problems that have an impact on the direction of the business, work effort and requires in depth analysis.
Develop and execute Procurement strategy to achieve key business objectives in the area of process and data
Work in calibration with the global teams including negotiating or influencing on significant matters
Responsible in decision making and determination of objectives, approaches on critical projects
Have an innovative and transformation mindset to identify improvement opportunities to optimize processes, decrease costs and increase value for stakeholders
Lead the enrichment of Procurement supplier data, linking together master data sources (COUPA, Process Unity, i Certis, SAP etc. )
Lead the definition of Procurement KPIs, creating intuitive dashboards with an aim to leverage machine learning for predictive data modelling
Champion a culture of data informed decision making, hypothesis driven experimentation and enforce data governance
Leadership to manage teams driving process excellence and data insights within Procurement

Process Excellence & Data Insights team focuses on developing and implementing a strong foundation of processes, systems, measurements, and controls that can help deliver high performance consistently. The team is responsible for delivering the articulated value proposition to drive high-value outcomes for Procurement, proactively identify key issues because of which there may be any escalation from stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Work very closely with multiple global stakeholders (solution architects, project team, technical development team and domain leadership team) to successfully deliver Automation/ Lean/other productivity solutions.
Responsible for project stakeholder communication and management before and during the implementation, including being the point of Process Mining contact for all matters related to program/project deliveries for the assigned TC’s
Build working relationships with senior management, project team and stakeholders and secure their support to achieve project goals
Lead workshops to understand key business decisions and create Business Decision Models to simulate possible scenarios to identify dependencies and bottlenecks

Decision-making and Problem Solving
Successfully carry out process Re-engineering projects and process reviews as required by Global or in-country procurement leadership
Successfully embed a continuous improvement(CI) mindset in the aligned business units through CI coaching and mentoring, for problem solving through Lean and Automation solutions
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Person Specification
17 to 18+ years of work experience preferably within Procurement, transformation, data insights and analytics
Ability to demonstrate a unique blend of leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills
Lead a highly motivated team for both qualitative and quantitative agenda of the Procurement strategy
Solving complex business problems, identify opportunities, create solutions, standing up business cases and execute the proposed solution.
Excellent understanding of Procurement domain knowledge (Sourcing , Category Management, Client, Supplier Management, and Operations) preferred
Diverse experience working with latest digital technologies like ERP systems (e.g.SAP HANA), Procurement systems (e.g. Coupa, Process Unity, i Certis), data mining tools (Celonis, UiPath etc).
Effective communication skills to work with teams globally and execute strategies
Professional experience in Consulting / Corporate Strategy / Business function teams of companies, in the domain of process transformation preferred
Experience of working with data and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, QlikView, etc.)

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Masters qualification / or equivalent
High experience of project/ program management in strategic programs
High experience on data insights and process insights, preferably in Procurement
Passion to drive change and transformation within global operating model
Ability to multi task and manage competing priorities
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
Proven leadership experience to manage teams, drive change in a complex global environment
Strong MS office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) preferred

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Experience demonstrating functional skills within Procurement as a domain
Ability to drive change and transformation
Leadership skills preferably both offshore and onshore
