Towards this vision, we at Philips Health Care Innovation Centre design and engineer beautiful products which help doctors ( our customers) to perform surgeries using minimally invasive interventions.
For designig our new products we are looking for an user-experience (UX) designer who can understand our business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as be responsible for design of the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience.
In this role, you have the opportunity to guide the development of design ideas in a project from basic user experience to fully work out design solutions. The position entails liasing with product and marketing management and development teams to position facilitate, guide and lead the product Interaction Design and Usability.
As a UX Engineer, you’ll weave together strong design aesthetics with technical know-how.
You’ll partner with researchers and designers to define and deliver new features, translate concepts into living, breathing prototypes, and iterate on interactions, animations, and details to deliver the perfect experience. UX Engineers also collaborate closely with Philips UX Researchers to user-test new concepts and assist engineering.
You will be responsible for
Managing the process of creating relevant scenarios/ themes/ concepts along with various stakeholders.
Create effective and appropriate visual languages by understanding the meaning and effect of these on the brand, audience, market and culture
Develop and use and direct the (project) team with clarity and accuracy in applying and defining (general) interface and interaction principles and general usability principles
Challenge technology, constraints and trends. Understand development tools and methods opportunities, constraints, trends
Create information architectures and Translate concepts into user flows
Build relationships and appropriately influence relevant internal & external stakeholders
Describe and document requirements and usability specifications
Collaborate in modeling the UX, especially applying human factors to the design solutions
Participate to design reviews
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Plan and organize usability evaluations in co-operation with stakeholders such as product managers, project managers and end-users
Conduct user testing and expert reviews (e.g. cognitive walkthroughs) for the evaluation of Philips Healthcare products using established usability engineering practices
Provide guidance to our internal stakeholders on the application of usability engineering to medical devices according to best practices, standards on usability and relevant regulation.
Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
You are a part of Philips mobile Surgery R&D team. With global headquarter of Mobile Surgery @ Philips HIC, Pune is playing a key role in Philips global strategy for Image-Guided Therapy. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Academic background in interaction design or cognitive science with focus on Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design and Usability
4 years and above progressive experience as an interaction designer/ usability engineer
Proven knowledge of Human factors and interaction design, Usability methodologies, processes and standards
Knowledge of the healthcare domain (or equivalent professional equipment domain) is a plus
Excellent communication & collaboration skills
