Job Description : Bed making with clean linen. Manages linen . Should she notice that any linen is torn or not clean enough for use, she shall not use the same and bring it to the notice of the linen-in-chargeCheck the consumables in the crash cart and the status of all equipment’s in the ICU and inform the Nursing Supervisor in case of any discrepancies noted. This is best done at Nights.Check the message book for any instructions during the change of shiftsEnquire, document and be aware of the new admissions, transfers, investigations, surgery and discharge of patients in the ICUGreet the patients and assess the patient’s condition and document the same at regular intervalsEnsure that the diet provided for all the patients in the ICU is as per the diet chartAccompany and assist the consultants during their ICU visit and carry out their instructionsAssist the consultants and resident doctors in the bedside proceduresEnsure replacement of medicines from the patient, if not endorse to the nurse who is the next in chargeInform any special events during the shift to the Nursing Superintendent or Nursing SupervisorMake sure that the hygienic needs of patients are met and the unit is tidy at all times.Prepare the patients for surgeries and procedures and ensure that their consent is obtained.
