Job Description : The IT Business Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

Responsibilities:
Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT
Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions
Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information
Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support
Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Act as liaison between business and technology teams to communicate business requirements
Manage changes and produce/review appropriate documentation (e.g. BRD, FRD) as necessary
Coordinate with the development team for testing and implementations for various releases
Work with development team to document current business flows
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in Business Requirements analysis with a background in program/project management using a structured approach for planning, estimating, monitoring, and reporting
3+ years of experience in successfully navigating a large strategic program/project through the project lifecycle, from conception through rollout and on-going support in a large or medium size organization, preferably a financial institution
Experience in writing range of test artefacts; test plan, test cases, test reports, etc.
Experience in basic technology development to write SQL queries, understand/modify XML
Knowledge of core banking/financial services systems and processes – especially trade life cycle and processing and front-to-back office processes for Capital Markets asset classes like FX, Equities, Rates, etc.
Knowledge of full software development and testing lifecycle
Skills:
Leadership with the ability to see the whole picture without losing attention to detail
Ability to interface with varied groups like Senior Management, Internal Audit, External Regulators
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to effectively handle conflicts and negotiations
Ability to explain business requirements to development team in technical language
Ability to produce accurate, clear, and concise documents
Ability to resolve user queries related to application and analyse/provide quick solution to production issues/queries
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Capability of multi-tasking and working under pressure
Ability to target delivery dates and work with minimum supervision
Self-driven person with a problem-solving attitude
Credit Risk, Margin Trading knowledge is a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Qualifications:
Project management certification like Prince2, PMP or equivalent is a plus
Six Sigma certification is a plus
