This is an excellent opportunity for a results oriented Finance leader to join the center for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for all Citigroup businesses and functions globally. The Mumbai FP&A teams form a critical part of Citi’s FP&A function and are driving progress towards achieving FP&A 2020 vision of becoming a strategic business advisor. The Mumbai FP&A teams are building on existing relationships with Finance leads globally and enabling decision making. The teams focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness of the forward looking processes and generate business insights for all Citi businesses. The senior resources in Mumbai FP&A teams will be required to lead the transformation, build partnerships and drive discussions with Finance / business seniors, and enhance knowledge and skillsets of team members to achieve the 2020 vision.
This role will be responsible for structuring, defining and overseeing all forward looking processes across Citi from Mumbai with no oversight from onshore teams. This will require direct interaction with senior FP&A heads, Treasury, Tax, Risk leads and all other stakeholders involved with Citi’s forward looking processes including Operating Plan, Strategic Plan, Outlook, Plan Functional, etc. This role will be part of the Global Central Budgeting and Forecasting team with regular interaction with the Global FP&A head of Budgeting and Forecasting on decisions related to forward looking processes
Role Outline / Job Profile:
Work with the Global Central Budgeting and Forecasting team to drive execution of all Forward Looking processes globally from Mumbai working with Global FP&A head of Budgeting and Forecasting team
Evaluate/review results for benchmark approaches/models to be used along with PPNR champion models on a product/segment level for triangulation/benchmarking; conduct root-cause analysis to address material differences between champion and benchmark results
Execute rigorous Review and Challenge of all CCAR activities, including overlays, workstream adjustments, benchmarking, final model results and expert judgment; review and challenge of business overlays is a key focus area
Evaluate model limitations and applied overlays; partner with Model Development team to carry out post-cycle remediation actions considering feasibility and system implementation
Coordinate aggregation of PPNR assumptions inventory; execute Review and Challenge of PPNR key assumptions and analysis of key sensitivities in preparation for submission to senior management and the Board
Coordinate FP&A activities for CCAR, including liaising with global Finance business units, Risk and Treasury; the ability to build partnerships is very important
Develop analytics and analytical tools to help drive understanding of key results by the businesses and senior management, as well as to support the review and challenge execution
Develop presentations and analysis of review and challenge activities/results to PPNR Senior Governance Group
Support resolution of Fed questions/variance analysis, develop and review Fed materials
Support external and internal audits of the PPNR process and results
Change agent mentality and ability to work as part of a broader team are very important; identifying gaps and streamlining processes are primary elements of the role
Be a very quick learner, ready to dive into details, gain good business knowledge of all Citi businesses, and become a PPNR expert/ go-to leader
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Chartered Accountant or MBA – Finance with at least 7+ years of FP&A experience
Should have worked in a senior role with a global / regional Bank and should have good knowledge of Citi businesses
Understanding of Citi Finance objectives and importance of FP&A processes in achieving them
Prefer strong and in-depth knowledge and understanding of Finance processes, systems and data structures
Strong Understanding of FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Risk processes and their impact on Forecasting processes
Ability to work with stakeholders at different levels (ranging from FP&A heads to middle management) and resolve contentious items expeditiously in a tactful manner
Experience in working with FP&A heads, Corporate teams and senior stakeholders globally
Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior-level executives
Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
Experience in driving process improvement programs and demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders without authority
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Track record of success in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Exposure to R&C aspects and ability to view the process from a macro level and drill deeper within process maps to analyze control gaps
