Credit Risk Management Portfolio Insights is one of the key functional areas within Retail Risk Management. This role will be in the Data & PI team, which is an extension of the in-country Risk reporting teams and is closely involved in wide range of activities including Portfolio monitoring, deep-dive analysis, regulatory reporting and Performance Benchmarking. The incumbent will be responsible for performing activities related to:
Ownership of portfolio monitoring of HBBR business
Portfolio reporting and measuring against benchmarks, caps & triggers
Analyzing the business trends and calling out actions/ insights
Streamlining and gaining efficiency thru automation and data visualization
Creating and maintaining delivery calendar and monitoring team performance against the same.
The role requires the incumbent to fully support HBBR (Bermuda) within the Risk PI team, executing various analytical projects spanning across credit life cycle for both Retail and Wholesale. The responsibilities include developing impact assessment, deep-dive / trend analysis, portfolio monitoring etc.
What you’ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities):
Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas
Identify and report the thematic risks and issues in the country and facilitate the in-country Risk teams with ad-hoc / deep dive analysis to ensure that the key risks and actions are managed in a timely and appropriate manner.
Support the execution of key business initiatives through thorough data analysis
Provide guidance to the in-country teams thru early trends in the portfolio and the market.
Creating and maintaining delivery calendar and monitoring team performance against the same
Typical Targets and Measures
Experience in Banking industry, preferably in Risk Management teams under Financial Services and Credit Risk related discipline.
Strong analytical skills, proficient in data analysis using statistical or programming tools – SAS and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to manage team, hiring, delivery calendar, resource planning and stakeholder expectation
Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
Be able to work independently on extracting, summarizing and presenting data and insights.
Demonstrate a high degree of organization skills and resourcefulness.
Capability to coordinate and manage on-shore stakeholders.
Expertise and automation and data visualization preferred.
This role is part of the Information Management job family and would encompass supporting Front-end & Back-end initiatives for several portfolios across different products in HBBR.
Responsibilities include
Providing valuable insights on customer on-boarding & management policies leveraging functional and business knowledge.
Collaborate with business partners to address potential opportunities and needs for analytical solutions to address underlying Risk.
Conceptualize and build analytical solutions using statistical techniques (if required) to provide insight into the changing dynamics of acquisitions and account management strategies
Ensuring robust documentation of the deliverables
Develop understanding of different customer management initiatives and ability to do a portfolio deep dive to identify potential opportunities for growth
The incumbent would be expected to effectively explain the trends, adding meaningful insights on the back of relevant business knowledge.
This role requires the incumbent to plan and execute the assigned projects/ analysis as per the agreed timelines and with accuracy and quality. This position also involves project management & stakeholder management responsibility.
Facilitate R&D on available data to come up with new and enhanced analysis of data; integrate or optimize the use of bureau information in all credit decisions
Proposing recommendation for optimization of existing policies or identification of process gaps
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensure team’s business delivery, system accesses, enforcement of compliance & business policies and people performance
Support and execute cost improvement strategies

Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering / mathematics / statistics / economics or equivalent streams.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in analytics preferably in Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Loss Forecasting, Risk Strategy etc.
Experience of delivering analytical solutions to solve business problems of moderate complexity.
Strong analytical thought process and ability to communicate ideas is required; should be able to grasp new analytical and data visualization concepts quickly.
Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in analytical tools like SAS, SQL and MS Excel.
Prior experience in managing risk activities in retail lending is essential
Prior experience in managing teams preferred
What additional skills will be good to have?
Automation using SAS and VBA
Data visualization using Qlik or Tableau will be added advantage
