Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet- related computer programs, primarily for end users. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field
Experience: 3-6 years of experience
Responsibilities
A self-driven, highly motivated, and experienced engineer
Developing High Quality Software Applications
Evaluating and recommending technology choices based on product requirements
Ability to gather requirements from all stakeholders and be capable in disseminating targeted user needs.
Experience of supporting large scale enterprise software
Ability to work end to end in design, development, and support
Developing & Reviewing Requirements & Design Documents
Providing input for product documentation and Quality engineering teams
A Team Player, working with global software development teams with multiple stakeholders
Installing and Testing Software Applications end to end
Supporting customers on issues reported from the field
Troubleshooting, identifying issues and proposing solutions / alternatives
Entering and tracking defects and work items
Scale up and down technically as required time to time
Primary/Required Skills:
C/C++ programming on windows and Unix platforms
Expertise in scripting such as Perl, Python
Able to write and understand complex SQL queries
Familiar with database administration for at least one enterprise database like Oracle, SQL Server, certification is preferred
Hand-on experience with Cluster/HA set ups for database servers e.g., Oracle RAC, Veritas, HP Service Guard, Linux Pacemaker etc.
Experience in IT Operations Management or Database monitoring products would be added advantage
