Job Description : Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) is responsible for the on-boarding and ongoing credit risk management of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) clients. CCP (Central Counterparty) WCR group is responsible for managing risks arising out of the CCP portfolios, which generate some of the largest credit risk exposures as a result of mandatory clearing of several derivatives transactions.
CCP WCR comprises a number of teams including Credit Risk & Strategy, Quantitative Research, Portfolio Market Risk Management and Data & Controls. CCP Data & Controls is a newly set up unit within CCP WCR group and focuses on the strategic data flows and controls relating to the data quality of key CCP related attributes within the credit risk infrastructure.
We are recruiting for the position of an Associate in the CCP Data & Controls team. The role will be based in Mumbai.
Responsibilities
Build good background on CCP risk management frameworks; Develop strong understanding of data lineage for CCP IM/GF and risk infrastructure
Work with Credit Officers on identification and analysis of DQ issues impacting CCP IM/GF
Take ownership of the DQ issues and drive end-to-end implementation of the solution by engaging with Middle Office (MO), Lines of Business, Technology, Ops and Data Office teams
Work closely with MO and Tech (within credit risk infrastructure as well as up-stream) teams on prioritization of DQ remediation
Provide business requirements to Tech to remediate DQ issues; Perform UAT testing for Tech changes
Work with Credit Officers and up-stream source systems for any New Business Initiatives (to ensure complete data flow into credit risk infrastructure)
Be the point of contact for any upstream infrastructure change; perform impact analysis for CCPs
Maintain and enhance CCP stress exposure dashboard; work on data sourcing for risk sensitivities for the dashboard
Provide support for project management of major initiatives within CCP WCR group
Work closely with Middle Office team to ensure effective control on CCP risk data
Essential skills and experience
4+ years of work experience in a top-tier peer bank in Risk data management role
Thorough knowledge of credit risk infrastructure, data flows and data attributes
Understanding of derivatives products and credit/counterparty risk measurement concepts
Experience of co-ordinating complex data governance projects
Attitude of tenaciously following an issue until its final resolution
Strong initiative, project management skills with ability to independently manage multiple priorities/deadlines
Detailed oriented; at the same time, being able to think holistically, creatively and critically
