Job Purpose
To manage Database and backup operations supporting all IT applications Pan-India.
Improve database service quality & Secure Services, Managing & controlling the licenses for Oracle & MSSQL databases.
Database Support & CSAT Improvement, Reduce Incidents (Sev1 & Sev 2), and corresponding RCA in the agreed SLA’s. Database Efficiency Improvement, Implementing, monitoring & strengthen Controls for SOX/PCI & other Compliance requirement including up-to-date currency of the databases. Data replication technologies like Goldengate, Data mirror etc.
Backup & Recovery Operations , Managing Backup & restoration SLA for all the VIL , Ensure 100% Timely Restoration and availability of data to TRAI, CBI, IB, RAW and Dept. of Police.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
Establish the needs of users and monitoring user access and security
Monitor performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
Map out the conceptual design for a planned database
Consider both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements
Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
Control access permissions and privileges
Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
Work closely with IT project managers, demand and solution managers
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
Commission and install new applications and customise existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
Backup & Recovery Operations , Managing Backup & restoration
Ensuring Zero DB loss and 100% database backup

Database administrator jobs require sort of experience in the IT industry.
It require experience in programming and to familiarize yourself with as many database technologies and operating systems as possible.

Must have technical / professional qualifications
Graduate (BSC/Btech/MCA) with engineering background.
Certification –Oracle Database expert, OCA and TOGAF enterprise architecture understanding and certification.
Preference of ITIL and Other certifications related IT Infrastructure management is preferable)
Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), UNIX and DBMS.
Knowledge on Opensource technology like Postre, Mongo etc.
Knowledge of Backup tools like Veritas netback etc.
