Introduction:
This role will hold responsibility for execution of specific initiatives as part of the broader Transformation program focussing mainly on the Accelerate the Financial Close initiative. You will be aligned to a specific Finance Transaction Cycle where you will be “hands on” in transformation activities including, planning, execution, process assessment and mapping, communications, analysis, and future state operating model/process design and execution.
What will you be doing?
The Finance SME Team Specialist is accountable for implementing specific initiatives as part of the overall FTC strategy. This includes working with various internal teams / stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, and ensuring appropriate governance and control through execution.

Identify opportunities to enhance the monitoring of processes to further aid future improvements;Perform data analysis to identify process footprints and study key performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities in the process.Identify key improvement opportunities in the finance process and quantify associated business benefits.Work closely with operational teams and SMEs to agree best fit for standard process metrics & define and deliver a data collection plan, including length of time needed to capture a representative sampleProvide suggestions and contribute towards cost efficiencyContribute towards productivity improvement which will result in a cost benefitIntroduce improvements to the way things are doneUses reasoning to distinguish underlying causes from symptomsAnalyses from differing perspectives or viewpoints to fully understand complexitySets relevant development challenges (such as projects) that focus on improved delivery to customers or colleaguesOn-going engagement of senior stakeholders, Business SMEs and support teams and align goals / objectives / outcomes with other project teams, line Business teams and other support teams in finance to identify opportunities to improve overall process efficiency and increase standardisation
What we’re looking for:
Skilled in the use of data analysis and presentation software tools; able to extract and understand the underlying picture from a wealth of complex dataProficiency in advanced MS Excel including macros is preferredUnderstanding and experience of Product Control / Financial Control or Finance related processesUnderstanding of and exposure to project management disciplines and techniques / Full project lifecycle processesAbility to work in a virtual team and work without supervision for long periods of timePragmatic rather than idealistic outlookFluent in English (spoken and written)

Skills that will help you in the role:
The ideal candidate will have experience of finance transformation programs and strong command of project management techniques and principles, and process management skills and techniques (Lean, Six Sigma)Academic and professional qualifications that may include CA / CFA / Masters in Finance / Financial Engineering would be an advantageGood Experience ranging with operations strategy/ line management roles in financial institutions, consulting or technology companies or programme/ change management roles in other industriesExperience in implementing Business Process Management and associated toolsExperience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environmentExperience in working with complex, interdependent process frameworks
