Job Description : Basic Function
As a Content Developer you will be responsible for the delivery, maintenance and support of content delivery software which forms an integral part of Wolters Kluwer research products. You will be working in a dedicated team of content development engineers responsible for the implementation of content delivery solutions within Wolters Kluwer worldwide.
You will also participate in broader project teams tasked with the delivery of new research products. You’ll play a role in the implementation, quality assurance and deployment of content delivery channels that integrate with the Wolters Kluwer global research platform (Global Atlas).
You need to be a proactive, self-starter with strong affinity for software and content. You understand best practices and design patterns and what it takes to deliver performant, robust content transformation software. You need to be able to translate content functionality requirements into content delivery solutions.
You are eager to learn and gain a deep understanding of used architectures and technologies such as XMP processing, content management systems and semantic web technologies.
The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to develop solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable components and services. You are able to clearly communicate your vision to the co-developers and to the management.
In addition, this role requires:
Strong collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work in a distributed, international, multi-cultured environment
Be responsive and flexible to handle critical support issues whenever they occur
Roles and Responsibilities
Translate new user interface requirements into content delivery solutions
Design and model change requests to existing content delivery solutions
Develop content transformation software to support conversion and validation
Develop annotators to support content enrichment services
Support multi-disciplinary product delivery teams from a content perspective
Interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning various organizations.
Other Duties
Position will require working some evening, weekend and holiday hours. At points in the development, delivery and support cycle, position may require 24×7 cell phone availability.
May perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
BE/B Tech degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience, from a four-year college or university, or equivalent, Masters a Plus.
3- 7 years of Experience Familiarity with content management systems
Familiarity with semantic web technologies and standards.
Programming language experience with Java and Python.
Experience with XML and XSLT High degree of interface analysis and design skills with a thorough understanding on designing for reuse. (String understanding of SOLID principles and OOAD)
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
Experience in technical writing Experience working in Agile team.
Proven track record of working with external customers to understand their needs and translate into technical solutions
Ability to effectively communicate technical decisions and their rationales to business unit stakeholders and development teams
Desire and ability to thrive in a distributed technical environment while working on multiple projects simultaneously
Passionate about latest technology trends with a strong desire for innovation Self-motivated and self-managing and able to work independently
Travel Requirements
Position may require some travel, domestic and international, comprising no more than 10% of total days worked.
