About the Product Analytics Team
Analytics is a dynamic team within the DWS Product Strategy, Lifecycle and Analytics sub-division as part of the Product Division. Our objective is to develop and implement state of the art analytical models and visualizations and to integrate the best available data in order to facilitate data-driven decision making across a wide range of investment-, product- and coverage-related topics. For this, we leverage advanced analytical methodologies, the latest technology available as well as cooperation with external partners such as universities. Our key focus is on performance, flows and profitability of DWS’ and peer products across all asset classes, client segments and regions. We are a global team of experts partnering closely with portfolio managers, product specialist and coverage teams. We are strong believers in data-based decision making.
About Deutsche CIB Centre (Pvt.) Ltd.
Deutsche CIB Center (P) Ltd. (DB Centre), Mumbai, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank and serves as a talent pool for the Bank across all business.
Responsibilities:
As a Data Scientist / BI Expert – Product you are part of the Product Analytics team in the global Product Division:
Support & build advanced analytics and business intelligence use cases on both investment-related topics (e.g., investment performance, ESG, attribution, pattern recognition, forecasting, behavioral bias identification)
Work on product-related topics (e.g., fund flow prediction, market sentiment, trend analysis, rating forecasting, sales opportunities)
Further expand our self-service analytics and business intelligence (BI) platform with interactive access via mobile devices. Prepare and compile documentation on methodologies.
Contribute to ongoing methodological and technological improvements of our approach
Be an effective communicator and mediator between business and IT/ digital teams
Embrace start-up mentality to ensure competitiveness in a growing digital market
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelors/Masters or international equivalent degree in Finance, Economic & Statistics, IT, Data Science, or any other quantitative discipline. A CFA would be a plus
Strong experience in Data Science with Python or R & (Big) Data Engineering, knowledge of GCP, Hadoop / Spark, CDSW and relevant data science libraries would be a definite plus
Advanced visualization and presentation skills in a leading BI platform – knowledge of Qlik Sense is an advantage
Experience in database design and SQL query language skills
Strong analytical skills with engineering mindset
Experience with relevant data providers such as Morningstar, eVestment, Broadridge would be a plus
Good business acumen, with the aptitude to successfully translate between technical and non-technical audiences including a good understanding of the model lifecycle from discovery to deployment
Competencies:
Ability to discuss at eye level with (senior) business stakeholders – experience in asset management or behavioral science would be a plus
Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and proven track record operating in a fast-paced environment
Intellectual curiosity and initiative combined with professional and personal integrity
Very good communication skills in English – further skills in German would be a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of the team with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to learn and apply new technologies
