As the Flagship Events Marketing Manager your primary responsibility is leading and delivering VMware’s flagship events and supporting programs in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). This includes liaising with key stakeholders, working closely with the Global VMware Events, Segment and Field Marketing Teams, as the lead for the APJ-based Flagship events and delivering high-quality supporting programs to meet customer demand and needs.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Coordinating and executing multiple flagship end-to-end live and virtual events on schedule, within budget, and with excellent attention to detail
Supporting measurable event marketing strategies for upcoming company-led events and third-party sponsorships
Supporting event production, thought leadership programming, and design of attendee experiences for flagship conferences
Designing and overseeing all promotional activities before, during, and after campaigns in close partnership with cross-functional teams (brand and design, demand generation, social media, integration and execution across field marketing)
Coordinating with external vendors and agencies
Tracking all activities and assessing outcomes against metrics to gauge event/campaign effectiveness
Drive regular program reporting & QBRs.
Analyse and leverage customer feedback to adapt and adjust future activity to ensure customer expectations are met and programs continues to evolve, delivering maximum customer impact and business value
Manage program APJ budget and align available resources to support regional execution.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Develop and grow the APJ Flagship Events strategy and programs for VMware Enterprise, Commercial customers and Partners
Be the lead of the APJ flagship events and delivering high-quality supporting programs
Lead VMware’s flagship customer execution and nurture programs for key customers and partners to deliver agreed commitments and KPIs
Demonstrate both a strategic and collaborative, cross-functional approach to maximise the impact of available resources and skills
Manage strong relationships with key stakeholders (Corporate, APJ and Regions), gaining input and buy-in for key approaches and initiatives
The individual will work closely with a large array of internal stakeholders, operating at a strategic level with Enterprise, Commercial and Partner Sales leaders, APJ and Corporate marketing teams, country leaders, and through regular interactions with VMware Executives globally.

The manager for this position is Fabian Sossa – Director, Executive & Enterprise Marketing. Fabian has over 21 years’ experience running B2B and IT Marketing. He has strong track record in driving consistent demand generation results and effective marketing programs, specialising in Strategy & Planning, Enterprise Marketing, Solutions, Vertical/Industry Marketing, Executive & Thought Leadership Marketing, Services Marketing, Program Management, Digital Marketing, Event Management and overall Marketing Operations.
Where is this role located?
Remote: this role is based in Malaysia (preference) or Bangalore, India (2nd preference)
