We are looking for a talented and highly motivated news editor to cover Argus news stories, market commentaries and other written publications. You will focus on developing fresh angles for coverage, and assign and edit quickly and cleanly. You are responsible for ensuring high-quality coverage that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.

We’ll trust you to:
Deliver daily coverage of news, exclusives, big-picture analytical coverage, features and commentary about the commodities markets.
Manage and break high-value news quickly and accurately for online and print platforms.
Report with accuracy, to deadline and to appropriate length and style.
Work in a team atmosphere with market reporters and other editors to develop strong story ideas
Liaise with other News and editors as needed to coordinate coverage and share information
Generate content and contacts through travel to key industry events, press conferences and site visits across business, government, and civil society.
Work on special projects, write news and analysis stories where necessary
What We Look For
At least 1-2 years of news or copy-editing experience at a recognised publication
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, economics, business, history or relevant field from a reputable university.
Prior experience in a price reporting agency (PRA) or a professional publishing capacity particularly commodities, would be a strong advantage
Interest in and enthusiasm for commodities, energy markets, global business, politics and economics.
A commitment to the highest level of accuracy and completing all writing within established deadlines.
The ability to write in clear and concise English and a high degree of understanding with regard to grammar, spelling and punctuation.
An understanding of what constitutes an effective news story.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel.
The ability to work with the minimum of supervision but to also work within a team structure.
