The analyst will provide research and financial modeling support used to produce company and sector specific credit reports that incorporate creative insights and support the corporate rating process. This position is based in our Mumbai office.Key Responsibilities: Prepare Financial Models: assist senior sector analysts in preparing financial models, including, but not limited to, updating financial information, reconciling data, and problem shooting proprietary cash flow models; maintain company and peer group historical financial results and credit metricsSupport Research Publications: coordinate and prepare the Corporate Credit Rating team’s routine publications, including weekly, monthly and quarterly research reports; produce charts and graphs for Select reports including sector ChartbooksReview and Document Financial Sources: update financial data used in various capacities, such as capital structure analysis, by reviewing company filings that include10-Ks and 10-Qs; maintain files of required documents in company foldersConduct Operational and Administrative Tasks: support the processes that run the day-to-day workflow of our Corporate Credit Rating team; automate tasks to improve operational efficiency and maintain information accuracy; maintain bond pricing spreadsheets to track credit spread movements and relative comparisonsResearch Industry and Company Sources: review company filings, presentations, and industry publications to compile sector and peer group statistics and credit metricsMonitor Issuer News and Events: provide support to sector analysts in monitoring news, new bond issue announcements, or other material events impacting corporate creditsRequirements: Master’s (Finance) or CA; CFA or FRM preferredMinimum 3-5 years of related work experience, credit research preferredKnowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting rules is strongly desiredStrong attention to detail and accuracyThe ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and deliver results in a timely mannerFluent in English, with good verbal and written communication skillsExcellent quantitative/analytical skillsStrong Microsoft Excel skillsDetail-oriented self-starter with strong organization and time management skillsCreative thinker who is adept at taking an analytic approach to problem solvingDemonstrated interest in financial modeling and corporate credit researchMorningstar is an equal opportunity employerAbout UsDBRS Morningstar is a global credit ratings business, currently with 700 employees in eight offices globally.
