Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Modern Data Protection Test team. You will be responsible for IBM Storage subsystems provisioning and developing/ running automated tests to validate the solution in customer-like environments, diagnosing issues and working with the development team to validate corrective code fixes.
What you’ll do:
Work with Management to articulate key needs and risks for the team
Quickly learn how to use features and functionality of Spectrum Protect in order to effectively Administer and test the product
Create test plans for upcoming features
Provision, configure, and maintain test environments
Write and execute test cases
Use automation tools to automate test buckets
Review and troubleshoot test case results
Open defects when found, providing all relevant documentation to diagnose issues found
Collaborate with development team when iterative test runs are required
Re-run test cases to verify defect fixes
Operate within scrum teams, employing agile methodologies
Storage administration (IBM Storage subsystems provisioning)
OpenShift installation, configuration
VMware installation, configuration, administration
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
8+ years of experience with PERL, Python, Java.
3+ years of experience with Test automation frameworks.
Experience with Microsoft SQL (installation, administration), Oracle (installation, administration), VMware (installation, configuration, administration), OpenShift installation, configuration Experience in Storage administration (IBM Storage subsystems provisioning).
Using, managing, and troubleshooting on different Operating Systems (Windows, AIX, Linux)
Experience in Test scheduling, forecasting, tracking progress.
Experience with Jenkin, Ansible, Build Forge, Git will be preferred.
Experience with System level testing and large-scale customer environment testing (CET) will be a plus.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication with team leads and management.
Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Understanding of Storage technology, Backup products, Agile methodology
