VB and Web App Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a VB and Web App Developer to be part of our Investment Modelling Engineering team that sits within the Global Business Application Support team. You will be reporting directly to our team leader; supporting the business by maintaining and supporting existing models, developing and delivering a product roadmap to standardise, globalise and redevelop our calculation models for Office Web Add-Ins across our international markets.

Analyse complex data to develop automated reporting with VBA and Excel
Develop, manage and maintain macros and VBA programs that work with large datasets for Excel reports
Optimization of processes using Excel
Argus Certification (with 2+ years of working Argus knowledge)
Participation in all stages of the software development life-cycle, from initial concept, gathering requirements, to design, development, testing and deployment
Validate with space and freedom new and disruptive ideas and technologies, which may involve architecture, development and integration
Working in an international team with colleagues, partners and pairs in Europe, Americas, and Asia.
Reporting within the Global Business Application Support team
Interaction with the local QA team
Work with the business community to turn business requirements into cost-effective and elegant solutions
Take ownership of managing the technical parts of the application & delivery
Act as go to person everyone turns to resolve any problems in the models
Engage with stakeholders for requirement understanding and transform them to solutions
Perform design and code reviews to ensure best practices
Take part in mentoring less senior team members when necessary
Supporting the agile methodology, participating in wider group daily standups, planning, review, etc. and workload monitoring
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

You will attend meetings with the business and engage directly with key stakeholders. You will meet with brokers and analysts to address their concerns and to build a good rapport with them.

You will be working collaboratively with other software engineers, technical business analysts, support engineers and business operations within the global team to service international staff and markets. You will work within the JLLT Core team, work with the best brokers in the industry, and collaboratively share ideas and skills with modellers and other engineers.
Great communicator
Can you communicate your ideas clearly both verbally and in writing? Excellent communication skills is imperative as we start a journey to document our standards, create a local and globally aligned strategy on calculation models whilst maintaining and improving existing models.

Analytical
You will be building, maintaining, supporting and validating our financial calculation models. You will be working with multiple countries to analysis and understand their business requirements, design and consolidate models for global usage, understand advanced calculations and mathematics and be driven to build world class solutions using your engineering skills in VBA, VB.NET, C#, Javascript API’s or Typescript. You will be working to develop Office VSTO and Web Add-ins.
Meticulous
You must pay attention to detail and have excellent problem-solving skills. Possess the ability to collate information and align to broader strategies.
Technical Skills & Competencies
Exceptional Excel experience including formulas and advanced calculations such as Discounted Cash Flow, IRR, NPV
Strong experience in developing object-oriented software applications in at least one of the following languages: VB.NET, C#
Strong experience in SQL withSQL Server (SQL/stored procedures/triggers/SSIS packages)
Database design/normalization experience

Qualifications
Computer Science Degree or a degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related disciplines with excellent academic credentials or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2-10 years of work experience in real estate industry
Certification in industry calculation tools such Argus Enterprise is advantageous
