Position : Accounts Payable Associate

Job Description : Purpose of Role
Manage and fully handle AP function and other monthly finance tasks for the region (UAE and KSA entities).
Job functions
Resolving purchase orders and managing purchasing process from a system perspective
Review invoices and contracts for satisfactory payment approval
Booking of invoices timely and accurately with attention to UAE and KSA VAT and WHT rules
Facilitate fortnightly pay-runs by providing AP analysis report to Financial Controller
Scheduling and preparing payments within banking facilities
Concur expense review and approval, in line with Company policies and VAT laws
Assist Management Accountants with daily banking and monthly bank reconciliations – multiple currencies, two countries
Assist Financial Controller with forecasted payment runs based on understanding of business needs, to prepare weekly cashflow forecasts
Obtaining credit with vendors, and adherence to Company payment terms as per policy
Liaison with 3 rd party to support monthly withholding tax return preparation, review, submission, and payment by due date
Maintenance of withholding tax records, preparation of applicable certificates and administration
Tracking of Company expenditure to budget and preparation of ad-hoc reports dependent on business needs
Record keeping in line with UAE and KSA VAT and audit laws
Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
Inter-company AP – assist regional Management Accountants with reconciliations, as well as in conjunction with fellow Group Company counterparts
Ensuring day to day compliance with financial regulations
Review AP processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
Supports Financial Controller with year-end audits
Requirements
Skills:
Aptitude for numbers
Fastidious attention to detail and highly accurate
Ability to handle large data sets and analysis thereon
Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills
Ability to communicate with all levels within the business and build relationships

Commercial understanding of business
Experience:
An understanding of principles of finance, bookkeeping and accounting including project / division-based accounting
Understanding of differentiation between capital and expense in line with Company policy
Familiarity with accounting ERP, NetSuite knowledge is a bonus
Experience with IFRS / US GAAP
Experience and understanding of VAT – UAE framework or similar
Desirable but not essential:
Comfortable with using HSBCnet
Integration of ERP with banking facilities to automate payments
Accountancy or finance degree / studying towards professional qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA
Arabic speaker
VAT – KSA framework
KSA Withholding tax experience
