Job Description : The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in pharmacology and toxicology. The successful candidate will make a full contribution to the academic life of UAEU through research, teaching, as well as academic and community service. They will teach and coordinate undergraduate and graduate level courses in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, contribute to related courses as needed, supervise and conduct pharmacology and toxicology laboratories for teaching, diagnostic and research proposes, as well as advise and mentor students. The role holder will develop and sustain an internationally excellent research program in their area of expertise, secure substantial internal and external research funding, publish their research findings in high impact international peer-reviewed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAEU. This will be facilitated through engagement in interdisciplinary collaboration with other UAEU colleges, e.g. College of Science, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, under the theme of One Health. The successful candidate will also contribute to student recruitment and admissions, student examination and assessment, and academic administration and service at the Departmental, College, and University levels. English is the language of instruction and communication.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate (PhD) in veterinary pharmacology, toxicology or similar field with at least two years’ academic teaching experience along with a proven record of publications in peer-reviewed international research publications is required. Good interpersonal and English communication skills are required, as is the ability to work with others in a diverse collegial team atmosphere.

Preferred Qualification
Candidates with a degree in veterinary medicine or comparable professional degree with documented accomplishments in teaching, research, and service are preferred. Additional qualifications of innovative and dynamic teaching or other professional skills relevant to a faculty role as well as a track record of securing research funding are desirable. Candidates with evidence of working in One Health‐related teaching and/or research especially in the Middle East and North Africa region or internationally will receive special attention. Experience with veterinary school accreditation requirements, innovative curriculum development and implementation, and industrial and professional experience is a plus.
