Job Description : The College of Engineering and Information Technology, Ajman University, has an opening for the position of Associate / Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering, starting Fall semester 2022-2023.Ability to teach courses in other civil engineering fields such as geotechnical and water resources is a plus.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEGraduate with a Ph.D. from a reputable universityOutstanding teaching recordOutstanding research and publications record in top journalsAdequate experience in supervising student projectsRecord of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantageExcellent record in community service and scholarly activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDeliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of studyEvaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student successResearch, organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networksConduct high quality research in his/her own field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferencesEnsure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college focused activitiesEstablish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and communityMotivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and successActively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectivesMaintain relationships with students that are conducive to learningPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingFamiliarity with the “Credit Hour” academic systemHave a minimum of two years teaching experienceAbility to supervise student workAbility to provide academic advising for studentsAbility to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferencesAbility to work effectively with diverse team membersKnowledge of academic program planning and implementationFamiliarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)Job Type: Full-time
