Job Description : Cornershop by Uber is an on-demand grocery app that gives you free time while your groceries and errands are delivered right to your door. We’re a fast growing company operating throughout Latin America and North America, and since our acquisition by Uber, we just keep getting bigger. Relaunched under our new brand name Cornershop by Uber we’re looking to avoca-grow our team. How many people are needed to create an application that simplifies the purchase of food from users? At least 600, because that’s the number of people who are part of our team of engineers, who work in different countries in South and North America. The engineering team is dedicated to producing intuitive technology for customers, buyers and stores, and to solving the challenges that arise along the way.
Cornershop has thousands of scale challenges so you can apply creativity, skill and experience to participate in the creation of optimization tools for different internal processes and propose improvements.
What will you do?
Collaborate with the Engineering team in the back-end development of our main products. The main programming language and framework you will use are Python and Django respectively. Let’s hope you have the ability to deliver scalable solutions throughout the lifecycle of product development.
What will you need to succeed in this role?
To be able to understand and discuss the business model
Be passionate about the world of software development and love writing and reading code
Motivate challenges and learn constantly self-taught
Work with good software engineering practices such as Clean Code, testing, CI/CD, etc
Experience developing with Python and Django
Experience with Postgres (or similar databases)
Specialize and solve complex Backend-related software problems
Communicate with others in Spanish and English, especially written
