Job Description : General Manager (Manufacturing) – Based in Abu Dhabi – Brand New Plant
Our client is a leading specialist within the Chemical’s industry and have a global presence spanning across three continents. The business are in the process of opening a brand new manufacturing plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
As the new General Manager, you will be tasked with supporting the early part of the local project and creation of the new Chemical Plant. Once the operation is established, the General Manager will be the senior leader on the ground and will be tasked with managing the companies local operation and strategy. The role will report directly into the global COO of the business.
Key responsibilities:
Overall management of the project site located in the industrial free zone in Abu Dhabi.
Development and implementation of the companies management systems.
Preparation for operations including recruitment, training, commissioning.
Establishment of all operational contracts including utilities, logistics, operational parts, supplies and services.
Oversee the performance of the EPCM contractor and construction contractors and ensure that plans are in place and implemented so that the work proceeds safely, in accordance with requirements of permits and licences.
What you’ll need to succeed
5+ years experience in a Senior Leadership position.
Previous experience setting up a new Manufacturing Facility – ideally in the chemicals industry.
Excellent general management experience, as well as strong leadership & operational skills.
10+ years Project Management experience.
Middle East experience would be a big advantage but is not essential.
Candidates can be considered that are currently outside of the region
