Job Description : The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so qualified.SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: The Landscape Laborer maintains the green grounds of university campus by using hand or power tools or equipment to perform a variety of landscaping tasks. He works outdoors with limited time, well trained in planting and handing tools, good in analyzing landscaping problems and has a general knowledge about landscaping.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors the entire landscape or designated area of the university.Planting, watering, sprinkle installation and all-around tending to any plants, shrubs or trees.Performs groundskeeping tasks like sod laying, mowing, mulching, edging, pruning, fertilizing, digging, raking and other lawn/plants or tree care maintenance dutiesMonitoring and maintaining plants’ health.Removing unwanted or damaged plants/ trees.Installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall unitsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.General knowledge about the landscape.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Demonstrates good hand skills, landscaping tools or equipment familiarity, and teamworkDemonstrate competency in specific materials, methods, tools, equipment and techniques required to complete required tasks in a safe and responsible mannerAbility to work with landscaping hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materialsExcellent stamina is requiredCapable of operating landscaping tools or equipmentWORKING CONDITIONS: Work outdoors/ indoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldWork is performed with physical effort as required.Work can be strenuous and may involve considerable lifting, carrying and bending with exposure to physical risk.Job Type: Temporary
