Job Description : Who You’ll Work With
You will join our global learning team based in one of our North America, EEMA, South America or Europe offices.
In this role you will have close collaboration with our broader McKinsey Learning Team and a range of other firm colleagues and external vendors/partners.
You will extensively collaborate with fellow learning journey managers and portfolio/topic managers. There is also close collaboration with our learning Centers of Excellence in Delivery, Design, and Technology, as well as with colleagues that drive our Regional and Office Learning efforts.
In addition, you will have frequent interaction with partners and senior leaders passionate about Learning (e.g., “Journey Leaders”; partner faculty at programs, etc.), people leaders at the firm; professional development managers, and other people-function colleagues.
You will have opportunities to work with leaders and learning colleagues across the firm’s Practices and Growth Platforms.
What You’ll Do
In this role you will create and deploy new learning solutions, with a particular focus in 2022 on launching new versions of Lead 1 and FLITE – two of our highest-volume and best-known in-person programs; expanding of our Leadership Masterclass library.
You will provide ownership for ongoing programs and elements of the Individual Excellence Learning Journey. For each of these, you will work to achieve appropriate learner access, learner engagement, a quality learner experience, quality program/course delivery and end-impact.
You will own a comprehensive understanding of our individual excellence colleagues’ development and learning needs. Using a learner-centric approach, you will build insight that informs content & curricula priorities and our learner engagement strategy.
You will assess and manage end-to-end performance of the learning curriculum across reach, relevance, impact, and efficiency dimensions. This requires understanding how learners are experiencing their learning journey holistically and whether – taken together – their learning is ultimately meeting their and the firm’s needs.
You will foster professional development and growth for yourself and others – e.g., coaching, and mentoring members of your project and delivery teams, deepening the firm’s learning & development expertise, and building our reach and relevance externally.
You will have expansive learning curriculum ownership including signature learning programs such as FLITE and Lead 1, focused skill-building offerings such as our new series of Leadership Masterclasses; as well as an array of exciting on-demand learning innovations and digital learning solutions.
Furthermore, you will be required to build a comprehensive view of our learners and ensuring that expertise and tech-focused learning curricula are integrated into an overall, integrated “picture” of learning that we communicate to learners and those who support them.
Qualifications
University degree with excellent academic record; advanced degree preferred
Passion for learning, leadership and talent development
5 years’ experience, ideally in a professional services environment and with learning & development, capability building, talent management, or related experience. Direct experience and/or strong familiarity with the paths and roles at McKinsey or a similar professional services organization is helpful
Toolkit basics, including problem-solving, project management, communication, and people leadership. Demonstrated performance in a team leader, manager, or equivalent leadership role preferred
A strength or emerging passion in at least 1-2 areas of relevant L&D capability such as Performance Consulting; Learner Needs Analysis; Learning Design; Learning Program Management or Impact Measurement
Maturity, confidence, and stakeholder management skills – in particular, experience acting as a thought partner to partners and/or senior firm colleagues
Helpful but not required: comfort and familiarity with digital learning; performance support; coaching; customer/consumer insights; solutions-building and management
COVID-19 vaccination mandate:
