At Level2, our mission is remission for people with Type 2 Diabetes. Level2 is an all-new, personalized digital care experience complete with coaching and clinical care that is informed by data from the newest wearables utilized in the treatment of diabetes. With real-time information on how food, movement, stress, and sleep all impact glucose levels, Level2 helps people make small changes with a big impact.
Level2 seeks a creative and compassionate Quality Engineer who wants to apply their love for technology to help our members get a fresh start. The QA Engineer will work closely with the Product Owners and engineering teams to ensure all products meet and maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has proven experience in test automation, can lead initiatives and activities with other QA team members, coordinates activities with other stakeholders, and is eager to lead by example.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design test methods and drive test planning and execution to ensure software meets quality standards
Ensure team is utilizing best practices in developing unit and integrations tests
Implement issue tracking processes for defect prioritization and remediation, escalating risk/concern as appropriate
Contribute to our high performing engineering team through participation in scrum activities, code reviews, test authoring and test automation
Lead the quality effort to ensure that new product features meet user expectations, including reliability and performance
Mentor and direct the work of other team members
Maintain documentation of test results; analyze test results and recommend resolutions
Support the application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
Follow established development, documentation, testing and deployment processes
Gather requirements and suggest solutions; serve as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions
Collaborate with product development team to plan new features
Participate in planning and scoping meetings for future projects
Advocate for good QA/QC practices to software engineers and other teams/departments
Stay current with new technology trends
Ensure 360-degree observability within systems
Lead the effort to ensure that new product features meet user expectations, including reliability and performance
Lead the effort to automate QA test scripts in coordination with other QA staff
Identify and develop User Acceptance Tests, in collaboration with the Product team
Identify and create integration tests in collaboration with fellow software engineers
Advocate for good QA/QC practices to software engineers and other teams/departments
Participate in Engineering and Product design meetings
Develop functional code for features on multiple platforms and products
Implement complex code based on guidance provided by lead engineer on initiative(s)
Review existing platform for optimization opportunities.
Using engineering best practices, design and develop test automation frameworks and scripts for UI, database and ReSTful services across multiple products and services
Contribute to code design and tooling strategies taking context and constraints into account
Ensure that test automation follows a consistent, maintainable, and extendable architecture
Guide your team and foster a culture of accountability helping them to discuss and decide together desired quality standards and thresholds
Interface closely with engineers and system architects to ensure applications are designed to be testable
Adhere to agile methodologies and foster collaboration and continuous improvements on your scrum team
Perform user story validation including the use of exploratory test methodologies
Clearly communicate test activities, escalation of problems, improvement opportunities and results in oral and written methods for a diverse audience
Run automation suites and evaluate results as builds that are deployed to the test environment, ensuring bug reports are submitted and tracked in accordance with unit procedures
Identify and clearly document errors and inconsistencies in the functionality, usability, and performance of the software using defect tracking tools
Provide input on QA initiatives and work closely with members of the leadership team to ensure completion of milestones
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience including a minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing
5 years in web or service endpoint and data integrity testing; 4 – 5 years developing automated test scripts in a professional software development environment
5+ years of experience in software quality automation and/or software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of data experience using and accessing data directly within MySQL/PostgreSQL or equivalent; Google BigQuery experience
Experience creating and extending complex test automation frameworks
Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
Experience working in a test-first development environment
Experience writing and executing tests for native mobile apps for Android and iOS
Strong experience designing architecture for Android and iOS app test automation (Appium and Selenium).
Experience developing automated tests for Android and iOS (Java, Kotlin, Swift)
Experience working with continuous integration tools to monitor test automation (Jenkins)
Experience writing tests that exercise cloud based/SaaS applications
Experience working in a test-first development environment
Experience with at least one scripting language (Ruby, Python, etc.)
Understanding of QA methodologies and a strong grasp on automation testing
Proficient with test automation approaches and processes (tools/technology preferences include Cucumber, Selenium, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and JIRA)
Strong grasp of HTML and CSS selectors
Desire to identify and implement continuous improvement practices
Strong organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of React.js, and Kubernetes
Ability to define and run life cycle tests
Strong object-oriented programming skills
Proficient with test automation approaches and processes (tools/technology preferences include Cucumber, Selenium, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and JIRA)
Able to write automated tests using a standard language such as C#, Java , etc.
Able to create performance test scripts for UI and web services
