Job Description : Job Background/context:
The CCB Risk team for Middle East cluster encompasses credit lending operations in 3 countries. With the expansion, there will be increased portfolio monitoring, analysis and review with some regulatory reporting requirement by each country. This position will form a pivotal role in compiling, coordinating and analysis of various data and supporting the analysts and approvers that is important in portfolio management and reporting.
Job Purpose:
Supporting all portfolio management related activities including amongst others, the analysis of various EW and collateral data, portfolio data and portfolio triggers, and internal and external reporting requirements for the Middle East cluster.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining a common database for the credit program and respective country and portfolio triggers for CCB Middle East cluster countries for analysis, monitoring, reporting and exception escalation purposes.
Consolidating data and preparing presentation decks for monthly portfolio risk reviews for relevant countries in the Middle East cluster
Supporting the CCB Risk Team in collecting data and analysing credit MIS reports and ensuring the details on credit facilities, exposures and collaterals are booked and reported correctly with focus on data integrity and high quality
Supporting Early Warning process in consolidating, collating, analysis and timely reporting of relevant updates/data for the relevant CCB Middle East cluster countries. This includes monitoring and follow-ups with Business team on highlighted red flags and assisting the Early Warning team to update the respective countries’ Early Warning Procedures manuals.
Supporting the Risk MCA coordinator in participating in periodic testing process, covering Middle East Clusters as well as support Business in critical risks identification and monitoring.
Supporting CCB Risk Team in the enhancement/updating of the respective country appendices to the Global Commercial Credit Programs, as well as providing inputs to product manuals.
Assisting the CCB Risk Team in various periodic regulatory reporting in collaboration with the Finance unit.
Working with other relevant units/teams within the Bank on various internal and regulatory portfolio stress tests, rapid portfolio reviews and country scenarios.
Monitoring major industries / market developments and trends in the macro-environment.
Cooperating closely with Business and all other functional units to perform the above tasks efficiently and in timely manner following global and local Bank’s procedures.
Any other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

The function provides excellent opportunities in developing portfolio credit risk management related skills & experience. This includes important enhancement of being involved in portfolio monitoring process development and oversight.
The person will work closely with all members in the CCB Risk team in the Middle East cluster to learn the specific country portfolio management and co-operation with the Business and customers with experience from different areas. There will also be opportunities for regional risk management collaboration and projects.
Within the role, the person will enhance its understanding of all credit related bank products and processes as he/she will be involved in contributing to the procedures drafting and interacting with many functional areas in the bank.
Finally, there is also a front-line element, through meeting the clients directly and working closely with the Business during the Early Warning process as and when required.
Knowledge/Experience:
An undergraduate degree in Economics/ Accounting/Business or related qualification
Preferable more than 3 years of corporate environment experience
Experience on various Risk functions including credit analysis, portfolio management, MIS & reporting
Skills:
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Good analytical and synthesis skills
Good level of comfort with MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Powerpoint
Self- organized/working without direct supervision
Ability to work through databases and detailed reports
