Position : Senior Data Engineer Full-Time
Job Description : Looking for a Senior Data Engineer to act as a key engineer to build and manage data platforms for the CAR system. This individual, with minimal supervision, will be executing the technology vision set by stakeholders from the Dow Jones. You will have the opportunity to lead, participate, and mentor team members on architecture and design.
Qualifications Bachelors/Masters in engineering or science with at least 5+ years of experience in Software Development At least 5 years of experience in building large scale data engineering or data warehousing systems Solid programming skills in Python(preferable), Scalaor Java Expert-level SQL skills Good experience with cloud technologies – AWS / GCP / Azure / Hadoop etc., Hands-on experience on one or more cloud components related to each of:
o Compute VMs, App Engines, etc.
o Storage: GCS, S3, HDFS, etc.
o Databases: Redshift, BigQuery, etc in addition to traditional RDBMSs (Mysql/PostgreSQL/Oracle) or NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB)
o Job Scheduling: Airflow, Luigi, Apache Oozie, etc. Familiarity with the Map-Reduce paradigm and experience with Apache Spark. Prior experience in data warehousing is preferred but not essential. Effective communication skills – verbal, written, presentation.
