Job Summary
As a Sr. Software Engineer working on the Customer Success Digital Transformation team, you will be presented with the exciting opportunity of working on a team that is responsible for the creative and innovative engineering, management, delivery, and maintenance of web-based systems, including user interfaces, REST APIs, and systems automation.
In this role, you will be developing and maintaining the web app client of the product, owning responsibility for deployments, scalability, reliability, performance, and security. You will collaborate with other engineers, designers, and occasionally product stakeholders to design and evolve platform and application capabilities to meet product and business goals. You must enjoy providing effective coaching and encouraging productive collaboration, standardization, and communication across the team.
What you’ll be doing
Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to design and evolve platform and application capabilities to meet product and business goals
Mentor and guide other engineers with constructive code reviews, best practices, code collaborations, and coding issues
Demonstrate an openness and unbiased approach to new ideas, code designs, and coding techniques.
Implement delightful user-facing features in alignment with the product design team
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Build modular layouts, reusable code, and libraries for future use
Utilize web analytics to optimize application performance and feature sets
Identify and mitigate performance bottle necks and bugs in web client
Deploy releases in a staged CI/CD environment
Participate in Scrum ceremonies or Agile processes
Help set technical standards and best practices
Document release notes
What we’re looking for
BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or 4 years equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years professional experience developing web applications
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
Familiarity with general programming concepts, patterns, unit testing, debugging, and data structures
Ability to communicate technical concepts or ideas to non-technical stakeholders
Usage of AWS or a similar cloud provider
Experience transferring data using REST and/or SOAP
Highly knowledgeable with HTTP and SSL
Experience implementing application security
Good understanding of SEO principles including web analytics (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.…)
Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments
Ability to communicate technical concepts or ideas to non-technical stakeholders
The desire to be continually learning about emerging technologies/industry trends
Develop and integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and technologies
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design
Provide high-level support, resolve problems, and answer questions related to applications
Create and maintain documentation of processes and applications
Ensure application development tasks are completed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
Ensure compliance with defined SLAs, development, maintenance, and testing of applications
Desired Skills/Experience:
Vanilla JavaScript development
Knowledge or experience with one or more coding languages (Python, Java, etc.…) is a plus
Front-end frameworks (Angular, React, and/or Vue)
Automated testing (Jest, Mocha, Karma)
Understanding of test-driven development and code review
Understanding of JavaScript transpilers and CSS preprocessors
JavaScript bundlers (Webpack, Browserify, Babel)
Observability tools (NewRelic, Prometheus/Grafana)
CI/CD (Jenkins, Travis, Gitlab)
Source control management (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub)
nix environment experience
Exposure or familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Kanban processes or ceremonies
Exposure to full-stack development is a plus
