Requirement A z OS systems programmer with 5 years
experience ideally in a large and complex mainframe environment to work in a small team of systems programmers
Key Responsibilities To install upgrade maintain and customise the z OS operating system covering z OS RACF JES2 VTAM TCP IP HCD WLM Sysplex and other z OS related IBM and OEM products and features Candidates must have the essential skills required to perform these activities such as SMP E REXX and assembler
They must be able to work independently and to be able to lead and manage associated project work
To build new environments as required by the business
To proactively monitor z OS and related software and to take action to prevent potential issues and to maximise performance
To improve such monitoring and increase automation where possible
To maintain robustness of the configuration and to maintain and test the mainframe DR solution
To assist users with the analysis of issues with system processes
To deal with day to day support issues related to z OS and associated software
