Job Description : About the job:
The Red Hat India Accounting team is looking for a General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join us in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will support the complete general ledger accounting activities for multiple country ledgers and other related activities including but not limited to the monthly close of the accounting books, audits, and statutory compliances. You will proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do:
Be responsible for accounting activities for other operating units (OUs) within the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, currently under set up phase including testing and other groundwork during the set up phase, day-to-day accounting in collaboration with centralized accounting team – Global Bid Desk (GBD), quality control in processes at transactional level, e.g., payment batch, accounting journal entries (JEs), accounts payable (AP) reviews, and exception reports, corporate book closure on a monthly basis and the first level review of financials, preparation of statutory books including support for statutory audit, and cash flow projections and other treasury-related activities
Support India Business Unit (BU)-related activities including mapping of payments to the
opportunity and also the systematic investment plans (SIP) and other incentive calculations
Support India revenue accounting-related activities including revenue-related queries during statutory audit and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME)-related vendor compliances for Indian entity
Assist in new and ongoing projects and other ad hoc activities as needed
What you will bring:
Chartered accountant (CA) with 3+ years or a CA Intermediate with 6+ years of experience
Good working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP); experience with Oracle is a plus
Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processor
Good analytical skills; diligent and good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure with distributed teams
U.S. multinational corporation (MNC) experience is a plus
