Job Description : This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Football program within the MSUN Athletics Program. Responsible for building successful team within the Frontier Conference and NAIA. Provides excellent leadership to the football program by promoting team integrity, reliability, and good sportsmanship at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the personal conduct, appearance and discipline of team members and coaches that is appropriate for intercollegiate athletic teams and appropriate to reflects positively on the department and the mission of the university.
Maintain academic progress of student athletes and foster a team environment that supports and encourages a high level of academic success.
Identify and recruit potential student athletes, arranging and offering incentives such as athletic scholarships.
Provide training, direction, encouragement, and motivation in order to prepare athletes for games and competitive events.
Plan and direct physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance.
Keep records of student athletes, team, and opposing teams’ performance.
Schedule games and ensure rules compliance.
Instruct individuals or groups in sports rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
Practice good fiscal management.
Promote the Football program within the community.
Develop, implement, and direct fundraising events to help offset operating/scholarship budgets.
Teach courses within the Department of Education or other areas of expertise.
Keep the Athletic Director informed of any unusual situations or circumstances within the program.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree
College Coaching Experience
Knowledge of Recruiting and Eligibility Requirements
Knowledge of NAIA and NCAA Rules

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated specialized knowledge in Collegiate Football
Demonstrated ability to create and run a well-disciplined and organized program
Demonstrated ability to establish a strong and knowledgeable coaching staff
Demonstrated investment in community and willingness and ability to supervise community service projects
Demonstrated familiarity with MSUN athletic programs
Demonstrated support for athletic programs

The Successful Candidate Will Special Requirements Physical Demands
Must be available to work nights and weekends, and have a desire to expand coaching and educational knowledge by attending coaching clinics and continuing education conferences.
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy. Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator:

Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees;

Responds to and seeks to resolve reports of discrimination and harassment following the Procedures;

Provides information about and, if requested, assists with criminal reporting;

Provides information about resources for obtaining advocacy, healthcare, and counseling services; and

Coordinates supportive and protective measures for members of the MSUN community.
