Patient Registration Clerk – Full time Night shift, 72 hours Bi-weekly
Description – External
Position Summary: Under direct supervision registers and enters information for every patient that presents themselves for services by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Registers patients and verifies demographic and insurance information.
Reviews orders for patient name, physician name and signature, test and diagnosis.
Calls physician office to obtain an order, if no order has been sent, or patient presents without and order.
Obtains and confirms POA, guardian information.
Obtains authorization from insurance for testing, when applicable
Complete MSP (Medicare Secondary Payor) Questionnaire for all patients with Medicare, and Medicare Advantage plans.
Obtains acknowledgment of HIPAA, and provides a copy of the MCR Notice of Privacy Practices upon request.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:
Medical Terminology
