We’re looking to hire on a Trail Guide/Wrangler for a full-time position Now – September 30 2021. Horse riding and handling experience required. Must be well-versed in trail riding and arena riding. We’re looking for a dependable, responsible, and friendly person to fill this crucial role. No phone calls.-Guide/Wrangler-POSITION TITLE: Guide/WranglerREPORTS TO: Ranch Manager/Assistant Ranch ManagerIMPACT: This position impacts guests, club members, program participants, the local community, as well as the tourism industry. It is vital to ensure safe and quality lessons and trail rides to increase awareness of our organization and preserve its reputation.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Arrives on timeCompletes their shift as scheduled unless another employee is available and substitution has been approved by Ranch ManagerAttends all staff meetings and required trainingsIs responsible for knowing and implementing health emergency procedures and evacuation plansActs professionally towards supervisors, co-workers, volunteers, club members, guests, visitors, program participants, and partnering businessesWears name tag when assigned, is well-groomed and dressed appropriately at all timesCompletes timesheet on a daily basisIdentifies horses to be used for the day’s trail rides based on the ability and age of the people and the personality and health of the horseCollects liability waiver from each guestIs responsible for the safety and the quality of experience the guests and horses receive from the time guests arrive, through the corral session and/or trail ride, to the time guests leaveCorrectly conducts pre-ride protocolConducts truck and trailer safety check before transporting horses and guestsChecks condition of tack daily and makes repairs as neededAppropriately converses with guests, keeping the focus on guests’ experience, and addresses their needs and concernsProvides riding lessons to children and adultsSafely transports guest and equines to riding destinationsActs professionally towards supervisors, co-workers, volunteers, club members, guests, visitors, program participants and partnering businesses.Listens to needs and concerns of co-workers and provides support to their goals in the work environmentAssumes all other duties and assignments deemed appropriate by the Ranch Manager, Assistant Ranch Manager or Owner of Dunrovin RanchDunrovin Ranch is a drug-free and smoke free workplace.May be asked to:Complete any Ranch Hand and/or Office Manager Accountabilities should theRanch Hand or Office Manager be unavailablePrepare for events and help with duties as assigned during eventsHelp facilitate children’s programs and campsPrivate use of Dunrovin Ranch property:Guides/Wranglers may be permitted to use Dunrovin Ranch’s equines for taking close friends and/or family on the Ranch Ride, River Ride, or for corral sessions.Rider weight limit is 200#. Prior permission and scheduling is required to ensure horses are not otherwise scheduled and are not tired from previous rides, clubs, camps, lessons, etc.Minimum Qualifications: At least 22 years of age.U.S. citizen or have a J-1 work visa.At least 4 years of experience working directly with horses. Component homebase riding and handling skills are a must.Ability to work weekends and have a flexible schedule. This job requires long days and long hours, with overtime available.College degree preferred- Associates or Bachelors.Available throughout the season from June 1 through September 31.Personal leave during the season will not be granted.Three references with contact information, two work and one personal.Interest in having a unique Montana horseback experience, not just a summer job.Current CPR and First Aid certification.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $10.00 – $15.00 per hourSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:TipsCOVID-19 considerations:Current vaccination status is confirmed for all ranch employees.
