Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Account Executive – Sales Department: SalesReports to: Senior Vice President of Business Development
Employment Status: Exempt, Full-time
Direct Reports: None
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing a high level of sales, service, and product knowledge to our customers as well as seeking new accounts to grow our business within designated areas. Responsible for obtaining orders and establishing new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing and potential customers, and provide sound customer service. Bilingual is a plus but not required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and product presentation suggestions, and filing reports.
Make sure that the existing clients are retained and maintained while acquiring new customers.
Take initiative and efforts to develop constructive and effective solutions to any issues that slow down or hamper the export procedures and activities.
Propose actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Maintains a thorough understanding of products, quality, pack, promotions, substitutions, pricing and services to be able to match products to account needs and increase sales volume.
Negotiates products with customers based on margin goals, providing volume program or other agreements. Promotes products on a yearly / seasonal contract.
Manages and ensures orders are accurately documented and input into the computer system.
Solves service problems, tracks order/delivery errors, calls on accounts to resolve issues and follow up on special orders.
Develops and maintains historical perspective on the marketplace to analyze and predict future trends and needs. Also maintains familiarity with competitor’s products and services.
Interact and communicate with sales team members, customer service, and operations in a timely and informative manner on market conditions, delivery schedules, and product information.
Maintaining complete and accurate records of all sales and customers.
Improve sales revenue in line with established sales targets.
Collaborate with sales team on pricing strategy and program implementation planning.
Maintain sales targets and category growth.
Work with the transportation department to facilitate timely customer deliveries.
Introduce new produce items to our customer base.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of the fresh foods supply-chain, annual supply / pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.
· Must be able to think strategically and develop long-term plans and relationships.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Thorough understanding of produce specific information such as growing seasons, inventory experience, market conditions, and knowledge of pricing.
Proven success managing accounts.
Highly motivated with a desire to be successful.
A positive, professional attitude with the ability to take initiative.
Motivation to research and provide proactive solutions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems.
Experienced in product specification and quality parameters.
Growth and sales oriented and the ability to work and succeed in a team atmosphere.
Drive and motivation to generate new business and maintain current relationships.
Qualified applicants will be highly motivated; self-starters who possess excellent communication skills and excellent planning and follow-through skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years in produce trading experience.
Proven track record and related job experiences within the produce industry.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer software programs as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
